CARLSTADT, N.J.–Color authority Pantone has released its myPantone for Android-based smartphones, as well as version 2.0 for the iPhone.
The myPantone app for Android phones brings Pantone’s popular iPhone app for capturing, creating and sharing Pantone color palettes to the Android platform, so graphic, digital, multimedia, fashion, interior and industrial designers have access to more than 13,000 Pantone colors wherever they go. Compatible with Android 2.2 and higher, it’s available for download at the Android Market store for $7.99.
Version 2.0 for the iPhone myPantone app incorporates feedback from more than 80,000 Pantone fans, including such enhanced features as color calibration tools to improve the appearance of Pantone colors on screen, CMYK support for Pantone Plus Series colors, access to ICC color-managed values and the ability to print color palettes straight from the iPhone. Version 2.0 is a free upgrade for current owners; otherwise, it’s available for $9.99 to new users at the Apple App Store. It’s compatible with iPhone OS 4.0 or higher, and can be used on the iPad, iPhone or iPod touch.
