Morand Out as Gordmans Chief Merchandiser
OMAHA, Neb.-Michael Morand, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer of Gordmans, has resigned, according to a filing by the home specialty retailer with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Morand tendered his resignation on May 28, when it took effect. The filing said Gordmans' merchandising team will report to T. Scott King, interim CEO, until a successor is named. The filing did not detail the reason for Morand's resignation or his future plans.
In addition, the filing said Jason Neimark resigned from the Gordmans board of directors, also on May 28. The board has named Brian Urbanek as a class II director of the company. Urbanek is managing director of Sun Capital Partners, an affiliate of Sun Gordmans, the retailer's principal stockholder. He had served as a Gordmans director from April 2010 to April 2011.
