WASHINGTON—Terry Lundgren, Macy’s chairman, president and chief executive officer, will moderate a session on the future of U.S. retailing at the National Retail Federation’s annual convention in New York City in January.
Titled “The Future is BIG, the Future is NOW,” the session will include Ben Fischman, CEO of Retail Convergence; Mindy Grossman, CEO of HSN; and Bobbie Lenga, managing director and global consumer sector leader of Russell Reynolds Associates. It will look back on innovations in retailing over the past century and look ahead to what the next innovations will be.
The convention will also hold panels on understanding consumers’ current wants and needs, the current shape of the global economy and the demographic, technological and business trends that will dominate retail over the next decade. One session, conducted by Duncan Angove, general manager and senior vice president of the Disney Store, and Stephen Finney, the Disney Store’s senior vice president of global retail operations, will examine how the Disney Store has established its brand and offers an entertaining guest experience.
The show, the 100th annual convention for NRF, will take place from Jan. 9-12, 2011 at New York’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
