J.C. Penney Sets New Merchandising Leadership

       

       

PLANO, Texas–J.C. Penney has promoted three senior executives to new top merchandising posts under Chief Executive Officer Myron Ullman, and said in a statement that it has discontinued its search for a president.
Jeffrey J. Allison, Steven Lawrence and Elizabeth J. Sweney have each been named executive vice president and senior merchandise manager. Allison leads the merchandising in his current areas of home and custom-decorating products, and has added fine jewelry to his responsibilities. Lawrence, who had been responsible for merchandising in men’s, has now added children’s to his product areas. Sweney is in charge of merchandising in shoes and women’s accessories, along with her current responsibilities over women’s apparel.
Previously, all three executives held the titles executive vice president and general merchandise manager.
The statement added that Ullman will continue to lead “all executive areas” of J.C. Penney.
