NEW YORK–Members-only site Gilt Groupe has appointed Jason Goldberger as general manager of Gilt Home, responsible for business strategy, merchandise and site development of the home business. He reports to Susan Lyne, chairman of Gilt Groupe.
Goldberger was previously at online retailer Hayneedle, where he served as senior vice president of marketing, merchandising and site and played an instrumental role in the creation of the Hayneedle brand. Before that, he spent eight years at Amazon, where he served as general manager for two businesses.
“Jason is a recognized leader in the home space and brings with him a deep knowledge of the category and strong ecommerce experience,” said Lyne. “We know he’ll be a tremendous asset as we expand our home business.”
Goldberger added, “I am thrilled to join such an innovative company. Gilt has led the wave of next generation ecommerce and I look forward to expanding Gilt’s footprint in home.”
Gilt Home was launched in May 2010, and will be expanded in the fourth quarter with a mixture of full-price merchandise, one-of-a-kind items and daily flash sales. It now offers 30 sales per week from more than 400 brands such as Baker, Kravet, Jonathan Adler, Stark, Ligne Roset, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, Frette, and Soicher Marin.
