PLANO, Texas-J.C. Penney has promoted Brynn Evanson to executive vice president of human resources.
Evanson has assumed responsibility over all of the retailer’s human-resource functions across the stores, the supply chain and the home office, including team member relations, recruiting, learning and development, compensation and benefits, and talent operations. She has joined J.C. Penney’s executive board and reports directly to Myron Ullman III, CEO.
Evanson has succeeded Daniel Walker, who left as chief talent officer last week.
Before taking her new role, Evanson, who joined J.C. Penney in 2009, was vice president of compensation, benefits and talent operations. Prior to coming to J.C. Penney, she served in a number of executive posts in human resources, stores, finance and merchandising for Target and Marshall Field’s.
