Crate and Barrel Launches Second Annual Ultimate Wedding Contest

NORTHBROOK, Ill.–Crate and Barrel has begun its second-annual Ultimate Wedding Contest, which will award a winning couple a wedding valued at more than $100,000. This year it will be designed by celebrity wedding planner Yifat Oren, who has done the weddings of such celebrities as Kevin Costner, Jason Bateman and Mariska Hargitay.

From now until March 31, 2011, at crateandbarrel.com/ultimatewedding couples can register to win by sharing their own love story, three important details of their ultimate wedding and a description of how they would design and decorate their dream home. Couples also have to maintain an active Crate and Barrel registry valued at a minimum of $2,000 and 50 registry lines.

“The Crate and Barrel Ultimate Wedding contest offers couples an opportunity to start their new life together in an unforgettable way,” said Marjorie Daugherty, gift registry director, Crate and Barrel. “When we launched this contest last year we were overwhelmed by the touching love stories as well as the sense of community that formed among couples and voters. For us, this is a wonderful opportunity to be part of their special day and of many others to come. We are so excited to get to know this year’s couples and to continue offering the best resources and tools for registries across the board.”

The 100 entries with the most votes will then advance to a final round of judging by Crate and Barrel and Oren. In addition to the first prize, prizes worth more than $30,000 will be awarded to the second and third place winners, 15 honorable mentions, and the couple receiving the highest number of votes.
