NEW YORK—CB2 introduced its first designer collaboration last night with Bob and Cortney Novogratz, who are both designers as well as the stars—along with their seven kids—of HGTV’s “Home by Novogratz.” Held at the Novogratzes’ West Street home here overlooking the Hudson River, the event showcased the collection, the majority of which will debut this October.
One rug design—called Family—will be introduced at the retailer next month and is available in two colorways and two sizes (5-by-8 and 8-by-10). Besides rugs, the line will include furniture and other categories.
Ryan Turf, general merchandise manager, CB2, told HFN that the Novogratzes “had a similar style to CB2. They love color [for example] and color is huge for CB2.” Though CB2 has worked with many designers in the past, this is the first collaborated partnership for the retailer, he added.
Pre-launch, CB2 has been holding a contest for one winner to receive a $15,000 room makeover from the designer duo with items from CB2 as well as other hand-picked finds. The company said already 300,000 people have entered to win.
Bob and Cortney Novogratz have been designing for 20 years, and for the HGTV show they develop and design unique properties in Manhattan and beyond. Their clients include fashion designer Cynthia Rowley, professional skateboarder Tony Hawk and Design*Sponge founder, Grace Bonney.
