At a special event last month, The Bon-Ton Stores introduced several of its exclusive collections for autumn of this year, two of which consist of home products.

The event was held in New York City, near the home textiles showroom buildings. Each of the two home collections have different target customers in mind.

One collection, Casa by Victor Alfaro, was created specifically for Bon-Ton by apparel designer Victor Alfaro. Steve Villa, senior vice president of private brands for Bon-Ton, said Casa is geared toward the retailer’s luxury shopper, and consists of bedding and bath products designed with white colors and muted neutral color palettes. The brand “offers a bit of luxury with soft fabrics and a subtle color palette to appeal to a customer with a more contemporary lifestyle,” Villa said.

The bath portion of Casa encompasses three towels—one of which is made with bamboo from rayon, one of which is cotton and oversized, and the other is made from microcotton. All three towels come with coordinating bath rugs.

The Casa bedding collection includes a down program in comforters and bed pillows, and sheet sets made of bamboo from rayon. The sheets are 600 thread-count and 800 thread-count.

Also for the Casa line, Alfaro designed a grouping of holiday decorations. These include small Christmas trees, Christmas globes, candle holders and decorative reindeer.

The Ruff Hewn collection is inspired by Bon Ton’s apparel collection of the same name. Ruff Hewn encompasses bedding, table linens, cookware and dinnerware.

The designs on Ruff Hewn feature plaids and lodge looks, along with motifs such as moose and elk, in deep red, green and blue palettes. “Ruff Hewn will appeal to a lifestyle that is more casual and rustic,” Villa said.

The Ruff Hewn home products are slated to appear beginning this fall in 98 Bon-Ton stores and its website.
