MINNEAPOLIS-Retired Williams-Sonoma executive Sharon McCollam has been appointed chief administrative and chief financial officer of Best Buy, effective Dec. 10.
McCollam will assume responsibility over the retailer’s finances and operations, and will play a key role in Best Buy’s transformation strategy. Under her charge will be global finance, strategic planning and corporate development, shared services and oversight of the company’s real-estate portfolio. She will succeed James Muehlbauer, who will leave Best Buy at the end of the fiscal year after helping in the transition.
McCollam was executive vice president and chief operating and financial officer of Williams-Sonoma until she retired from the specialty home retailer earlier this year. She served in a variety of executive roles in her 12 years with Williams-Sonoma.
