ATLANTA-Aaron’s has promoted Steven Michaels to vice president of strategic planning and business development, and has named Kimberly Rivera vice president of learning and development. Both positions are new ones for the company.
In addition, the retailer has designated Robert Kamerschen, senior vice president and general counsel, for the additional role of corporate secretary.
Michaels, who was previously vice president of finance, has assumed responsibility for new business development and strategic analysis for future growth. In her new role, Rivera is responsible for creating and refining training and development programs for the company’s more than 12,000 associates. As corporate secretary, Kamerschen supports the board of directors and leads Aaron’s corporate governance initiatives.
Michaels and Kamerschen report to Ronald Allen, chairman, president and CEO. Rivera reports to Chad Strickland, vice president of associate resources.
Michaels has been with Aaron’s in various executive posts since 1995. Kamerschen joined the company in June. Prior to joining Aaron’s, Rivera owned a corporate training and development company, and worked with the retailer as a consultant to create a leadership development program for its management team.
