PLANO, Texas-J.C. Penney has debuted a new reconfiguration of its home department, newly branded under Home Collections at J.C. Penney.
In what a company spokesman termed an “extensive remerchandising” of the section, 60 percent of the area now caters to soft home, including a renewed focus on bedding and bath. This element also involves an expanded window treatment presentation.
The revamp also includes a layout intended to make comparison shopping easier, the spokesman said. As an example, he cited the new “Main Squeeze” section, which allows shoppers to compare brands of blenders, food processors and juicers in one place.
The section has also brought back celebrity chef brands, JCP Home and Liz Claiborne in bedding and bath.
