Regence Home, the sales, marketing and distribution arm of Riviera Home, comes to the New York Home Fashions Market this month with expanded offerings in its area rug category as well as new accent and bath rug lines. Its showroom is at 7 West 34 Street, in suite 615.
Regence Home will add to last year’s initial launch of five area rug collections, three of which have “unique construction never seen in the market before,” said Scott Carlton, vice president, sales and marketing. The Cumberland group, for example, is a machine-woven New Zealand wool rug with a one-inch pile height, he said. “[It] emulates a gun-tufted rug in terms of appearance and thickness.” Wellington also looks like a hand-tufted rug; it is machine-woven from 80 percent wool and 20 percent nylon. Cheshire, a wool berber in three designs and four colors, is an updated style of a “very successful wool berber rug from Spain in the mid 80’s and early 90’s that was very popular and had much higher price points.”
In the machine-made accent rug category, its Cotton Choice brand of cotton accent rugs expands with three new designs in five colorways backed with latex. In addition, Marseille, a cotton jacquard accent rug collection that looks like petit point, will be shown in the U.S. for the first time. In the handmade accent rug category, introductions include additions to the company’s branded Gorilla rug collection of heavyweight decorative accent rugs; a prewashed rayon chenille in six colors; a micro-fiber cotton waffle weave in six colorways; and a cotton/polyester shag called Lancaster.
In its bath rug category, its memory foam and micro-fiber categories will continue to grow, including one collection that combines both.
The company focuses on the “constructions, their uniqueness and quality,” he said. “Because our loom counts are small, we’re really a boutique type wholesaler.”
