HOUSTON--Mattress Firm has appointed Stephen Leggiero to the newly created position of vice president of branding.
The naming of Leggiero represents the latest in a series of high-level executive moves at the mattress specialty retailer over the past two weeks. In that time, Gary Fazio, formerly chief executive officer, has been elevated to chairman, while company president Steve Stagner has added the CEO title to his duties. Also, Craig McAndrews and Dave Brummett have been named vice president of merchandising vice president of product development, respectively.
As vice president of branding, Leggiero will oversee the development of a comprehensive brand strategy encompassing customer service, efficient and effective marketing and advertising, and a differentiated selling proposition for Mattress Firm. He reports to Stagner.
Leggiero joined Mattress Firm in 2007 as vice president of store operations. Last year, he was named regional vice president of central Texas, overseeing the markets here, in Austin and in San Antonio. His career prior to Mattress Firm included executive posts with J.C. Penney, GNC, LensCrafters and Proctor & Gamble.
