WESTBURY, N.Y.–Fortunoff Backyard Stores will reopen on Long Island and New Jersey this month.
The seven new Backyard Stores will range in size from 12,000 to 34,000 square feet and will be in long-established Fortunoff markets including Long Island communities Westbury, Melville and Smithtown; and in Menlo Park, Eatontown and Totowa, N.J.
The Fortunoff Backyard Stores return under the new management and leadership of two former Fortunoff executives, Marty Merkur and Bernie Sensale. Isidore Mayrock, a member of the Fortunoff family, has also joined the company’s board as an investor.
The Chair King, a Texas-based casual outdoor furniture retailer, has purchased controlling interest in Furniture Concepts LLC, which owns the licensing rights to the Fortunoff brand for outdoor furniture and seasonal products in the U.S. and on the Internet.
