HICKORY, N.C.–Laura Dillon of San Bernardino, Calif., has won The EarthCare Challenge contest conducted by Hickory Springs.
Announced at last October’s High Point Furniture Market, the contest followed consumers as they adopted eco-friendly lifestyles and upgrades to their homes. Six national finalists were tracked on the Internet and the social-networking sites Facebook, Twitter and YouTube beginning on Dec. 1. A panel of judges selected Dillon as the winner after she banned her family’s daily use of paper plates; started a recycling regimen in her home; found eco-alternatives to items such as gift wrap, beauty products and lighting; and began riding her bicycle.
Dillon will appear at the Las Vegas Market on Feb. 2, where she will shop for her grand prize: a personal collection of EarthCare Inside home furnishings courtesy of Craftmaster Furniture.
