JAMESTOWN, N.C.–Furnitureland South, the retailer based here that bills itself as the largest home furnishings store in the world, is marking its 40th anniversary this month with a number of special events and discounts for its customers.
The store, in the town adjacent to High Point, is 1.3 million square feet and has a sales force of over 150 people. Founded in 1969 by Darrell Harris, who sold and delivered furniture himself, the store now sits on a campus-like setting with one building in the shape of a large chest.
Promotional activity at the store will run through next month and includes an anniversary dining table giveaway.
