BENTON HARBOR, Mich.–The KitchenAid and Maytag brands of Whirlpool have received two awards in Appliance Design magazine’s Excellence in Design competition.
KitchenAid took its honor for the Architect Series II Gas Cooktop, which includes a 20,000-BTU dual-tier burner to handle searing and stir-frying. The cooktop comes with low-profile, edge-to-edge grates that integrate with the countertop surface. The product’s design also features a responsive glass-touch display that includes a control safety lockout and hot-surface indicators.
Maytag’s award was for the Bravos Washer, whose design emphasizes solid construction and reliability. The washer’s high capacity and CEE Tier III Energy Rating are intended to ensure high efficiency. It also offers an impeller wash system, sanitary cycle and patented OxiClean dispenser.
