NEW YORK-Starmount Home Furnishings is the new home for Nautica furniture after the two companies signed a licensing agreement for the program. The line, which will include both upholstery and case goods, will debut this fall at the High Point Market with a spring 2010 retail launch planned.
The Nautica line had previously been with Lexington Home Brands.
Starmount, which is based in North Carolina, will target the line at department and specialty stores. “We know that Nautica has loyal brand recognition with the global consumer,” said Starmount president Michael Foster, “and [we] intend to provide furniture offerings to meet their needs and aspirations.”
Maria Vicari, president of global licensing for Nautica, which has licensed its brand into other home categories such as textiles and tabletop, said Starmount’s production base was a plus in getting the license. “The vertical sourcing competencies of Starmount coupled with its global distribution capability will provide a strong platform to grow Nautica.”
Kerry Glasser of Concept Marketing Group was the brokering agent for Starmount.
