WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.–Producers of “green” and sustainable products will be among the featured exhibitors during New York Home Textiles Market Week in August.
“Eco-friendly is on trend in home textiles, and several market newcomers specialize in green products,” said Dorothy Belshaw, senior vice president of GLM and director of the New York International Gift Fair, which produces the market week. A GLM statement added that several of the new exhibitors produce environmentally responsible merchandise or import such products through fair-trade agreements with developing countries. Examples of these products include biodegradable placemats and napkins from Table Manors, organic cotton wearables from Green 3 and contemporary home and personal-wear goods from Sustainable Threads.
The market takes place at the Gift Fair at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94 and in the showrooms at 7 W New York and 230 Fifth Ave., from Friday, Aug. 14, through Thursday, Aug. 20.
