NEW YORK–Iconix Brand Group has formed a joint venture with New Brands Americas to develop and promote Iconix’s brands in Latin America.
The joint-venture company, called Iconix Latin America, will market the brands through existing and new licensing agreements in Mexico, Central America, South America and the Caribbean region. New Brands, a member of the Falic Group, has received a 50 percent interest in the joint venture in exchange for $6 million and other commitments, and has the option to purchase rights to future brands that Iconix may acquire.
This is Iconix’s second international joint venture. In September 2008, the company formally joined forces with Novel Fashion Brands Limited, a Hong Kong-based company, to form Iconix China.
Among Iconix’s stable of brands are Cannon, Royal Velvet, Fieldcrest, Charisma and Waverly.
