BLOOMINGTON, Ill.–Electrolux Home Care Products has joined the SmartWay Transport Partnership, a voluntary collaboration between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the freight industry.
The partnership is designed to increase energy efficiency while reducing greenhouse gas emissions and air pollution. Created in 2004, it identifies products and services that reduce transportation-related emissions through a market-oriented approach, rather than through regulatory means. As a partner, Electrolux must show significant and measurable air-quality and/or greenhouse gas improvements, while maintaining or improving current levels of other emissions and/or pollutants, according to a company statement.
“Participating in this initiative is an important step as we continue to focus on lessening our environmental impact in every area of operations,” said Russell Minick, president of Electrolux Home Care Products.
