GONZALES, La.–Net income for Crown Crafts totaled $1.035 million in its fiscal 2009 second quarter, almost double that of its second-quarter net income last year.
The company achieved this leap in profit on sales of $23.8 million, 39 percent greater than in the second fiscal quarter of 2008. E. Randall Chestnut, Crown Crafts’ chairman, president and chief executive officer, said in a company statement that the jump in sales and Crown Crafts’ ability to control marketing and administrative costs, which were almost unchanged from last year, were the keys to the company’s strong numbers in its second quarter.
The company also projected that fiscal 2009 revenue will range between $90 million and $93 million, while operating income will finish the fiscal year between $10.2 million and $10.8 million.
