BENTON HARBOR, Mich.–Lanny Tillery and Riche Heumann, two senior account managers for Whirlpool, have earned Certified Green Professional designations from the National Association of Home Builders.
The GCP designation recognizes building-industry professionals who have acquired the knowledge of the best strategies for incorporating environmentally friendly principles into home building. The training for the designation includes cost-effective methods of construction, reduced homeowner maintenance through green building and how green homes provide better indoor-air quality. Tillery and Heumann completed 12 hours of continuing education every three years, a portion of which included training in green building activities.
In a Whirlpool statement, Tracy Frye, senior contract marketing manager, said Tillery and Heumann “represent the first of many Whirlpool Corp. sales professionals who are working closely with the building industry to help set the pace for sustainable construction.”
