DELRAY BEACH, Fla.–Office Depot has launched an exclusive brand of compact fluorescent light bulbs in all its stores and on its Web site.
The launch is part of the environmentally preferable “Office Depot Green” product line, introduced on Earth Day.
Recognizing that CFLs use about 75 percent less energy and last up to 10 times longer than standard incandescent bulbs, the energy-saving bulbs are the most economically and environmentally beneficial products customers can buy, Office Depot said in a statement.
Further, CFLs “represent a tremendous opportunity for Office Depot to serve our increasingly environmentally aware customer base,” said Richard Diamond, the retailer’s vice president of merchandising. “With the launch of Office Depot Green CFLs, we are once again leading the office products industry by helping customers create greener offices and save money in the process.”
