WASHINGTON–The U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission and TTI Floor Care North America have issued a recall of Dirt Devil Turbo Tool/Power Brush attachment tools.
According to a statement from the CPSC, plastic pieces inside the vacuum tool can break apart and be thrown out of the tool, creating a laceration hazard. TTI has received 140 reports of incidents involving the tool, including 12 reports of injuries, the statement said. The attachment was sold as an accessory to several models of the Dirt Devil.
The attachments covered in the recall were sold at mass merchants, home improvement stores and other retailers throughout the nation from April 2007 to April of this year. The prices ranged from $60 to $170 for the vacuum cleaner, including the accessory tools.
