NEW YORK–Caldrea, a maker of upscale chemical-free household cleansers, has been purchased by S.C. Johnson & Son for an undisclosed sum.
The products under the Caldrea brand and Mrs. Meyer’s Products, a less-costly brand, utilize oils and other biodegradeable components.
According to a company representative, the Caldrea Co. “will be a stand-alone subsidiary of S.C. Johnson.”
S.C. Johnson’s product line includes brands Drano, Pledge and Fantastik. The company also manufactures non-cleansing items, including Saran Wrap and Ziploc.
