LOUISVILLE, Ky.–A significant percentage of consumers plan to purchase sheets, bed pillows and mattress pads in the next year, according to a survey conducted by Louisville Bedding.
According to the results, 69 percent of the participants said they plan to buy sheets in the next 12 months. Also, 54 percent plan to buy pillows, and 34 percent plan to purchase mattress pads. In addition, a large portion of the survey respondents bought these products in the past 12 months—78 percent for sheets, 62 percent for pillows and 34 percent for pads.
In a statement announcing the results, Louisville Bedding said, “Consumers are shopping for these products every month and every year. These products represent significant traffic-building items that progressive retailers should prominently feature and promote on a regular basis to attract store traffic.”
The survey also found that anti-allergen products have become more important for consumers. When asked to rate the importance of this quality to their purchase decisions, 75 percent of pillow purchasers, 77 percent of pad buyers and 63 percent of sheet customers rated anti-allergen properties as important. Also, 50 percent of the participants said allergy resistance is more important than price in driving the purchase decision for these products.
