NEW YORK–At the tabletop show later this week, Waterford will unveil its newest brand extension: Lismore perfume.
Lismore perfume will launch exclusively at Bloomingdale’s next month. The perfume was developed by a group that works with Estee Lauder and is sold in a glass or crystal bottle that can later double as a bud vase.
Waterford was drawn to the previously untried category because of its prime real estate at retail, its status as one of the most highly advertised product categories and its association with brides, said Peter Cameron, the company’s chief executive officer, who announced plans to leave the company last week.
“We continue to place Waterford as aspirational and relevant to a new generation of givers,” Cameron told HFN. Lismore is Waterford’s most recognizable franchise; the venerable pattern spurred a more casual offspring called Lismore Essence that figures prominently on bridal registries, according to Cameron.
Earlier this year, the company announced plans to license its name to mattresses.
