NEW YORK–Marking the latest in a series of senior appointments, Bloomingdale’s has named Bruce Berman president of Bloomingdale’s Direct, adding to his role as chief financial officer of Macy’s upscale division.
In this role, he will oversee Bloomingdale’s By Mail and Bloomingdales.com, reporting to Frank Doroff, Bloomingdale’s vice chairman.
In his continuing role as chief financial officer of Bloomingdale’s, Berman will report to Tony Spring, who was recently named president. The most recent president of Bloomingdale’s Direct was Franz Weiglein, who left the retailer some time ago, said a spokeswoman.
“The strategic importance of the direct-to-consumer business is hard to overstate,” Michael Gould, chairman and chief executive officer of Bloomingdale’s, said in a statement. “Bruce Berman will bring a sharp focus and unique operational expertise to these areas.”
