NEW YORK–A new Calvin Klein Home bed ensemble, introduced at the textiles market at New York this week, has put the high-end brand into the organic-cotton sphere for the first time.
Cotton Flowers, a cream-and-white pattern of flowers woven as a jacquard and in a double-cloth construction, is produced with 100 percent organic combed cotton. The ensemble includes natural bordered sheeting, a layered grid sham, a natural rib throw, an organic matelasse and accessory pillows. It also includes natural bordered sheeting with a pieced-dyed woven border with a raised pattern featured on the front and back of the hem, on both the flat sheet and the pillow case.
Rudy Schmatz, chairman of Calvin Klein Home, said the brand’s current intent is to increase the size of its 100 percent organic cotton program in the markets to come.
