CHERRY HILL, N.J.–With distribution in 18 countries, Israel-based home soda maker Soda-Club Enterprises has migrated to U.S. shores, giving people who are addicted to the carbonated stuff the tools needed to make it as easy to make seltzer or soda at home as other favorite beverages.
With its U.S. offices based here, Soda-Club also enters the U.S. market at a time when the backlash against bottled water has been a major environmental theme.
“People make lemonade, iced tea and coffee without giving it a second thought. So why buy prepared carbonated drinks when you can enjoy the many benefits of making them yourself in just seconds, with no cleanup?” asked Gerard Meyer, president, Soda-Club USA.
He added that Americans consume about 600 cans of soda for every adult and child annually, translating to more than 3 billion cubic feet of packaging a year.
With the Soda-Club soda maker, seltzer can be made in 30 seconds with the push of a button, the company said.
Available in three styles—the Fountain Jet, Edition 1 or the Penguin—the nonelectric soda maker comes in kits that start at $80 and that include such soda-making supplies as carbonating bottles. Each reusable carbonating bottle contains enough carbon dioxide to make up to 110 liters of seltzer or soda, keeping that many liter bottles out of the trash or recycling system, the company said.
