GREENSBORO, N.C.–Women in the Home Industries Today (WithIt) has named a new president and board for 2008. Tiffany Mullis-Brittain, director of communications, Vanguard Furniture, succeeds outgoing president Kelly Peterson, group advertising director, Hearst Integrated Media, who becomes chairman of the board.
Mullis-Brittain will spearhead the 2008 board’s charge to develop its leadership and outreach roles in the home industries.
Other members of the WithIt executive committee for 2008 are: Kathy Wall, The Media Matters, Inc., as board of governor’s chairman; Liz O’Brien, Carter Furniture, Star International and Ekornes, vice president/president elect; Christina Mairs, American Drew, Lea Industries, secretary; and Rachel Fleming, Hanesbrands Inc., treasurer.
Executive committee members serve one-year terms on the board of WithIt, the premier international organization dedicated to the support and development of female professionals in the home industries.
New vice presidents/committee chairs are: Sally Erickson, Sealy Inc., chair of the financial committee; Mary Eitel, MKE Communications Inc., chair of marketing committee; Leslie Newby, Brand Communications Inc., chair of the media committee; Kim Reynolds, Oriental Weavers USA, chair of the mentoring committee; Leslie Carothers, The Kaleidoscope Partnership, chair of the education committee; Phyllis Zaepfel, PROFITsystems, chair of the networking committee; and Rene Crosby, Four Hands, chair of the scholarship/foundation committee.
“After 10 years of organization, WithIt has earned its mettle as a leader in professional development for members,” said Mullis-Brittain in a statement. “Now is the time to extend WithIt’s influence to the home industries at large, including internationally and in other home goods business segments.”
