NEW YORK–NexCen Brands has formed a partnership with Welspun USA that will expand the Waverly brand, one of NexCen’s holdings, into new product categories.
The agreement calls for Welspun to become the Waverly licensee for bath towels; bath, accent and scatter rugs; and down- and synthetic-filled comforters, blankets, pillows and mattress pads. All of these are new categories for the Waverly brand.
Rick Platt, Waverly’s president, called the agreement “a giant leap forward to the goal of expanding the Waverly brand into a complete lifestyle resource.”
Also, Welspun is set to formally introduce its basic-bedding unit during the February home textiles market here. Other brands offered by Welspun include Nautica and Umbra.
