CANONSBURG, Pa.--With the last All-Clad collection introduction six years ago, the high-end cookware company has released its sixth line under its brand name, exclusive to Williams-Sonoma.
Called the Brushed Stainless Steel Professional collection, it has a patented five-ply technology that alternates between aluminum and stainless-steel layers, and regulates heat distribution, making each pan's temperature remain even throughout and eliminating hot spots, according to Williams-Sonoma's Web site. It also has what Williams-Sonoma calls a proprietary non-stick coating with a higher level of scratch resistance and durability.
The new line is priced above All-Clad's best-selling stainless-steel collection and just below Copper-Core, its premier brand. For example, an 8-inch non-stick Brushed Stainless Steel Professional fry pan retails for $100 on the Williams-Sonoma site, while an 8-inch Copper-Core fry pan is $109.95, and an 8-inch, non-stick stainless-steel fry pan is $90. A seven-piece Brushed Stainless Steel Professional set is $599.95, and $649.95 for the non-stick version, while the set in Copper-Core is $899.95, and in stainless steel, $529.99.
The 25 items in the new line available on the site include seven-, 10- and 15-piece sets; fry and stir fry pans; stockpots; a Dutch oven; and a French skillet. All-Clad's last cookware line introduction was Copper-Core in 2001.
Other new products exclusive to Williams-Sonoma include All-Clad' anniversary of the James Beard Scholarship Foundation. A portion of the pan's proceeds will go to benefit the foundation.
