PALATINE, Ill.–Restonic Mattress Corp. has appointed Ron Passaglia, a 37-year veteran of the mattress industry, as president and chief executive officer.
Passaglia succeeds Stephen Russo, who had been interim president and CEO since late 2006 and who will remain on the company’s board of directors. Russo and Dan Kantor, Restonic’s chairman, have been refocusing the mattress manufacturer, restructuring its operations, and identifying strategies and opportunities. The company is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year.
Most recently, Passaglia was CEO of Selther USA, the U.S. marketing unit of Groupo Selther, a mattress manufacturer based in Mexico. His career began in 1971 as sales associate for Levitz Furniture in California. Since then, he has held executive positions with Simmons, which he joined in 1973 and for which he worked for 25 years; and Verlo Mattress Factory stores, which he joined in 2000 as president.
