ADDISON, Texas–Michael Glazer has been named chief executive officer of Mattress Giant, succeeding Barrie Brown, who has left the company.
Glazer, who had been president of private-equity firm Team Neu before assuming his new role, had also served as CEO of KB Toys, the specialty toy retailer. Before joining KB, he was president of Bombay Co.
Brown, whose future plans were not announced, was described in a Mattress Giant statement as “instrumental” to its success. “He played a pivotal role in positioning the company for acquisitions by Freeman Spogli and Co. (Mattress Giant’s private-equity-firm owner), and has been a vital contributor in the company’s expansion,” the statement said.
