Laurie Burns, who just took the helm of 41 Madison Avenue a few weeks ago, will get a chance to see the tabletop industry in its full glory at the New York fall tabletop show this week.
Burns, who has relocated from Bangkok, Thailand, brings her knowledge of the Asian tabletop manufacturing business and her past experience as director of the Atlanta Gift Mart to her role as steward of the industry.
“I am honored to have been selected by Rudin Management as senior vice president and director at 41 Madison,” said Burns when her appointment was first announced. “As 41 Madison is the premier tabletop market in the USA, I shall dedicate myself to producing the same high-quality New York tabletop markets that the showrooms at 41 have come to expect and that meet the needs of the industry.”
One week after her return to the United States, Burns said she was thrilled to be in New York. “I’ve been reminded how great a city New York is, how fashionable it is,” she said. “It’s great to be here.”
Burns spent part of her first week on the job visiting showrooms and catching up with industry friends. “To be able to carry this building into the future is a dream come true,” she said.
