Hats off to HGTV HOME.
Earlier this week, the consumer products arm of the much-trusted television network announced that it is launching a baby furniture collection. The collection, to be exclusively sold in 86 buybuy BABY stores, is just the latest in a flurry of licensing activity.
Before the holidays, HGTV Home partnered with Dreams LLC for a wide range of mattresses and sleep products. Earlier last year HGTV unveiled outdoor products.
HGTV Home’s largest consumer products effort kicked off in 2012 when it partnered with major players Bassett for furniture; ELK Lighting and Shaw Floors.
HGTV Home’s entrance into new categories has consistently been thoughtful and well conceived. We look forward to seeing how consumers respond to the new products—and what categories it enters next.—Duke Ratliff
