  • IMC Proposes $12 to $14 IPO Price

    IMC_logoWEB.Showroom operator International Market Centers, which owns the World Market Center in Las Vegas and about 60 percent of High Point’s showroom space, has priced its initial public stock offering at $12 to $14 per share and said the IPO could raise more than $185 million. In a Securities and Exchange Commission filing Monday, IMC said it plans to sell at least 11.5 million shares. More

  • Blueair Teams with Volvo on Purifiers for Showrooms

    BlueairBlueair AB and Volvo Cars have reached an agreement whereby Blueair will supply air purifiers to Volvo showrooms around the world. A Blueair statement said the company has already begun to deliver purifiers to Volvo showrooms in China, Greece, Switzerland, Norway, Portugal and other markets. The auto maker selected the Blueair Pro series as its air purifier of choice, the statement said. More

  • Amazon Boosts Q1 Sales by 15.1 Percent

           Net sales for Amazon.com rose 15.1 percent to $22.7 billion for its first quarter ending on March 31, thanks to solid gains of 39.6 percent in net service sales and 8.8 percent in net product sales. The company posted a net loss of $57 million in the quarter, compared to net income of $108 million in its first quarter of last year. More

  • Ethan Allen Q3 Net Dives 51.8 Percent

           Third-quarter net income for Ethan Allen Interiors plummeted 51.8 percent to $2.5 million, in a quarter in which the company began the second phase of its product launches and continued its efforts to freshen up its design centers. Farooq Kathwari, chairman and CEO, said Ethan Allen has also been adding to its staff of retail managers and interior designers in North America. More

  • Aaron’s Q1 Net Soars by 28.4 Percent

    Aaron'sThanks to the inclusion of results from the Progressive Leasing business, Aaron’s posted a 28.4 percent gain in first-quarter net income, which totaled $49.2 million. The added numbers from Progressive, which Aaron’s acquired in April of last year, also boosted total revenues in the quarter, which ended on March 31. Total revenues finished at $821.8 million, up 40.4 percent. More

    High Point MarketBuyer registrations topped 45,000 for the first time ever, and more than 14,000 buying companies sent people to this month’s market, the High Point Market Authority Board said on Wednesday. Market Authority President Tom Conley told board members earlier this week that, while actual attendance numbers were not yet available, the increased registration is a sign that the market remains healthy.
