NEW YORK--New York's permanent tabletop showroom buildings have revised future dates of the biannual tabletop show, sticking with the new Wednesday-through-Sunday format, but pushing the fall show one week later in the month.
The 2008 spring show is scheduled for April 9 to 13. The fall show will take place Oct. 22 to 26.
The change in fall dates is a result of vendor concerns about getting samples in time for early retail meetings. The earlier October dates also impinged on religious holidays.
Show dates were established following a survey of tenants in the permanent showroom buildings that expressed a preference for the Wednesday-to-Sunday timing. The consensus was that the new scheduling would accommodate both independent retailers that wish to cover the market on a weekend and department and big-box stores that prefer weekdays.
