Byrne Back as Overstock CEO

SALT LAKE CITY-Patrick Byrne, Overstock.com’s chairman and CEO, has resumed his post after taking a medical leave.

Byrne, also the founder of the retail website, took his leave in February to be treated for cardiac issues thought to be associated with cancer treatments he had received years ago. Jonathan Johnson, former president of Overstock.com, was named acting CEO at that time.

Johnson has been nominated to stand for election to the Overstock board. If elected, Johnson will be appointed executive vice chairman.

Eisenberg Leaves Latex International

SHELTON, Conn.-Tomas Eisenberg, Latex International’s vice president of strategic marketing, has resigned from the company to pursue other interests, effective immediately.

Eisenberg’s responsibilities over international business development will now be assumed by Kurt Ling, president of the company’s Pure LatexBLISS brand. Ling’s appointment is part of an organizational change to Latex International’s brand management offices in the United States, Europe and Asia.

Shopko Tabs Cooper as Senior Marketing VP

GREEN BAY, Wis.-Michael Cooper has joined Shopko as senior vice president of marketing.

In his new role, Cooper is responsible for leading the retailer’s branding strategy and marketing initiatives. He reports to Jill Soltau, president and chief merchandising officer, and has succeeded Nancy Altman, who has left the company.

Before taking his new post, Cooper was with Office Depot in a number of executive positions, most recently as vice president of marketing. Prior to joining Office Depot, Cooper was with Accenture as a retail practice consultant.
