IMC Names Singleton Director of Retail Relations for Gift+Home at Las Vegas Market

LAS VEGAS–Angelia Singleton has been appointed to the newly created position of director of retail relations for Gift+Home at Las Vegas Market, effective immediately. She will report directly to James Nail, International Market Center’s vice president, gift marketing. Gift+Home at the Las Vegas Market runs July 29-Aug. 2 at the World Market Center Las Vegas.

Martin, former Saks Chairman, to Leave Dillards Board

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.-R. Brad Martin, the former chairman of Saks Inc. who now serves on the board of Dillards, will leave the board next month.

A Dillards statement said Martin informed the board that he will not stand for re-election at the stockholders annual meeting, scheduled for May 18. The statement said Martin, who has served on the board since 2008, has accepted an unspecified leadership position “which will require a significant time commitment.”

Rizzy Home Hires Breibach

CALHOUN, Ga.—Jim Breibach has joined Rizzy Home as vice president of textiles, a new position. He reports to Mark Ferullo, vice president, and started Apr. 1.

 A seasoned multifaceted purchasing professional, Breibach comes to Rizzy from Quality Procurement Group, where he was director of purchasing. Other previous positions include vice president, senior buyer and ecommerce merchant.

Sheila Altenstadter, Rizzy’s director of textiles, will be concentrating more on sales, said Ferullo.

Sales Team Set for Windy City Show

ROSEMONT, Ill.–Urban Expositions has announced the exhibit sales team for the Windy City Gift Show, its new semi-annual exhibition that will debut here next January.

Led by Show Executive Director Marilyn Anderson-McGriff, the team will also include Show Director Stacey Barrett, who comes to Urban from Merchandise Mart Properties Inc.’s Chicago Market, and sales associate Lindsey Anderson. The team will report to Joan Ulrich, vice president of new business development for Urban Expositions.

Foster Tabbed to Head De’Longhi U.S. Sales

In his new post, Foster is responsible for sales in the United States, fostering the company’s continued growth by building channel-appropriate retailer plans. He reports to Mike Prager, president and CEO of De’Longhi North America, and has succeeded Ken Kaprowski, who has left the company.

Andrew to Leave IMC; Organizational Changes to Come

LAS VEGAS—Dana Andrew, vice president of International Market Center’s global marketing & communications team, is leaving the organization on April 19. She is relocating to northern California to be closer to family, according to IMC, but said she will continue collaborating with IMC as a senior marketing and communications advisor as well as work on new initiatives.

Comfort Solutions Names Wachendorfer, Sliwa to Business Development Posts

WILLOWBROOK, Ill.-Comfort Solutions has appointed David Wachendorfer to vice president of business development for the Midwest region, and Thomas Sliwa to brand development manager.

Wachendorfer, who reports to company President and Chief Operating Officer Dave Roberts, is responsible for sales to new and existing retail accounts in that region. Before joining Comfort Solutions, he served as vice president of sales development and retail training at Tempur-Pedic.

Gooch Elected to Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores Board

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill.-Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores has elected James F. Gooch, former president and CEO of Radio Shack, to its board of directors.

Gooch will also serve as chair of the board’s audit committee. William R. Harker, chairman of the Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores board, cited Gooch’s “extensive experience, knowledge and understanding of retail and consumer-product businesses.”

Homer Laughlin Names New President

Newell, W.Va.–Elizabeth McIlvain, a fourth-generation owner of the Homer Laughlin China Company, which makes Fiesta ware, was appointed president of the 142-year-old privately owned business. She will succeed her brother, Joseph Wells III, who worked at Homer Laughlin for 50 years.

In her new position, McIlvain will oversee all operations of the company’s retail and commercial divisions, as well as Hall China, which was acquired by Homer Laughlin in 2010.

GMCR Promotes Degnan to Chief Legal Officer

WATERBURY, Vt.-Michael Degnan has been named chief legal officer and corporate general counsel for Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR), effective March 31.

Degnan has been GMCR’s vice president and associate general counsel since January 2011. In his new role, he will succeed Howard Malovany, chief legal officer, corporate general counsel and secretary, who is retiring.
