WAC Lighting Appoints Wang International Sales Manager

GARDEN CITY, N.Y.–Thomas Wang has been named international sales manager at WAC Lighting, a new position.

The brother of president Shelley Wang and the son of co-founders Tony and Tai Wang, he will be based in the company’s international offices in Shanghai, China. Reporting to his father, Tony Wang, who is also chairman and chief executive officer, Thomas Wang will be responsible for residential and commercial sales, working with sales agencies, distributors, designers and specifiers outside the United States and Canada.

D’Angelo Promoted to Senior V.P. of Iconix

NEW YORK–Carolyn D’Angelo, vice president of brand management for the home division of Iconix Brand Group, has been promoted to senior vice president for the home division’s brand management.

D’Angelo remains responsible for building the home segment of Iconix’s branded business, duties which she assumed when she joined the company in 2007 after its acquisition of Pillowtex. An Iconix statement credited D’Angelo with securing the company’s direct-to-retail deals such as Cannon at Sears and Kmart, and Charisma at Costco.

Target Appoints Zabel V.P. of Government Affairs

MINNEAPOLIS—Matt Zabel has been named vice president of government affairs for Target.

Zabel is responsible for representing Target in Washington, identifying important policy issues and being part of the legislative process. Based in Washington, he oversees the government-affairs teams for the retailer both here and in the capital.

Carroll Joins McNeill Communications

HIGH POINT, N.C.—Joe Carroll, the former long-time publisher of Furniture Today, has joined McNeill Communications Group as president of its newly formed marketing communications division.

Caroll retired from the magazine earlier this year after spending 33 years there, most of it as publisher. At McNeill, which specializes in the home furnishings field, he will oversee marketing and communications, including planning, advertising, public relations and social media.

Tyus Joins Surya as Director of Marketing

Reporting to Seth King, vice president, sales and marketing, Tyus will focus on building and extending the Surya brand, as well as creating and executing a marketing plan, which includes print, media, web, collateral and catalog development.

Tyus has more than 18 years of experience in the textiles and carpet industries, having held positions with Milliken, Interface, Mohawk Industries and Tencate Mills.

BRONX, N.Y.–With more than 30 years of experience in the lighting industry, Barbara Cote has joined Murray Feiss as product development manager, reporting to Maria Scutaro, vice president of merchandising.

Cote’s background includes positions in sales and merchandising and as a product specialist and showroom manager. At Murray Feiss, she will be responsible for developing new product, studying fashion trends and creating marketing strategies, as well as working closely with the sales force and customer dealer base.

Messe Frankfurt Promotes Kurzawski, Jeglitza-Moshage, Reinke to Senior V.P.s

FRANKFURT, Germany–Messe Frankfurt has promoted Stephan Kurzawski, Iris Jeglitza-Moshage and Klaus Reinke from vice presidents to senior vice presidents.

In his new role, Kurzawski has assumed responsibility for the development of Messe Frankfurt’s consumer-goods trade fairs, especially Ambiente, and will have the trade-show managing company’s Head Office Sales Controlling department reporting to him. He in turn reports to Detlef Braun, member of the board of management.

Bush Tabbed as International Sales Director for Crown Crafts

GONZALES, La.–Crown Crafts has appointed Mary Jean Bush to the newly created position of director of international sales.

The move reflects the company’s emphasis on international markets as a component to its growth strategy over the next five years, according to a Crown Crafts statement. Bush oversees the development of sales strategies and new international business, along with growing sales with existing international accounts for Crown Crafts Infant Products, Hamco, Neat Solutions and Bibsters.
