ALEXANDRIA, Va.–Dick Doyle, president of the International Sleep Products Association, has resigned.
Ryan Trainer, executive vice president and general counsel for the association, and Debi Sutton, vice president of marketing and member services, will assume Doyle’s duties while a search for his successor takes place, according to a statement from ISPA. A three-person transition team will reevaluate the organization’s strategic plan and lead the search for a new president, the statement said.
Doyle’s resignation came a week after the announcement that Rick Anderson, president of Tempur-Pedic North America, had resigned as ISPA’s chairman in the wake of controversy over Tempur-Pedic’s patent-infringement lawsuit against other mattress manufacturers, including some members of ISPA. Don Wright, ISPA’s vice chairman, took over as chairman after Anderson’s resignation.
In the ISPA statement, Wright said that in the wake of Anderson’s resignation plus the decision by Englander, Carpenter and Anatomic Global to leave ISPA, Doyle “felt it was an opportunity for him to explore other professional challenges.”
