FRIANT, Calif.–The Specialty Sleep Association will open a permanent showroom in the soon-to-open Building C of the World Market Center in Las Vegas.
Measuring 15,000 square feet, the space will serve as a showcase for a range of specialty-sleep products and systems manufactured by the association’s members, according to an SSA statement.
Dale Read, the association’s president, said memory-foam, latex, air, gel, water, adjustable, natural and organic mattresses are expected to achieve a market share of 40 percent in the mattress industry by 2010. “Specialty sleep is on fire,” Read said, “and this new space will represent a more dynamic and convenient showcase for manufacturers and suppliers to meet and do business with retailers.”
Since the World Market Center opened in 2005, the SSA had contracted for temporary space during market weeks in the pavilions located across the parking lot from the World Market Center buildings.
“We continue to be an incubator for many new entrants into the category or smaller manufacturers/suppliers not yet ready to commit to permanent showrooms on their own,” Read said.
