HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill.–Serta has named Jim Nation, former president of Spring Air, to the newly created position of president of sales development. Also, Serta Mattress Winnipeg, one of the company’s Canadian units, has appointed Benjamin Kay as its president and chief operating officer.
Nation reports directly to Serta’s president, Bob Sherman. He left Spring Air in August 2007, two months after the company merged with its largest licensee, Consolidated Bedding. Nation has been active in the International Sleep Products Association, serving as vice chairman and chairman of its board of directors.
Kay has been with Serta Winnipeg since 1997, serving most recently as vice president and general manager. In his new post, he reports to Iser Kay, Serta Winnipeg’s chairman and chief executive officer.
