MANCHESTER, Vt.–Applejack Art Partners, an art licensing and publishing company, has acquired E. M. Boehm, Inc., an American manufacturer of fine porcelain sculptures and collectibles since 1950. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Applejack plans to add depth to the product line with new designs and contracts, according to Jack Appelman, chairman of Applejack. He noted Boehm’s strength in florals, wildlife and religious sculptures.
“The company has a unique lineage,” said marketing director Chris Brooks, referring to Boehm’s staff of artists, some of whom were trained by the company’s founder Edward Boehm. “This is a trade that has been passed down through the generations and Boehm is the only American studio to still create fine porcelain in this way.”
