HOUSTON–Mattress Firm is involved in several initiatives aimed at raising awareness for pancreatic cancer and funding research to find a cure for the disease. During the month of November, the company will ramp up its efforts, partnering with other organizations and its vendors to maximize attention for the cause.
“Mattress Firm remains dedicated to finding a cure for pancreatic cancer and we continue to look for opportunities to support this worthy cause,” said Steve Stagner, president and CEO. “This year we have expanded our involvement, and I’d like to thank our employees throughout the country, our vendor partners, and our store communities for their continued support.”
Throughout the month of November, portions of the proceeds from LuxLiving pillows, Mantua adjustable bases, Protect-a-Bed mattress covers and Serta iComfort mattress sets will go to the Mattress Firm Foundation, which supports pancreatic cancer research and clinical trials. Mattress Firm is also supporting the Tempur-Pedic Rest Test initiative, which generates a $10 donation for every guest who tests a Tempur-Pedic mattress in Mattress Firm’s stores. Throughout the month, the Mattress Firm Foundation will also be the charity partner for the Houston Rockets Give Back initiative. Fans can donate to the cause and win prizes. Plus, Beautyrest will donate $1 (up to $10,000) for every fan that completes a comfort test during the nine home games in November.
Mattress Firm is sponsoring Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s upcoming PurpleStride Signature Events in 12 cities throughout the South and Midwest. The company will also have a team participate in each market and will have an area set up at each event for participants to stop by and receive special coupons. On Tuesday, Nov. 12, Kendra Scott jewelry is hosting a cupcakes & champagne event at the Rice Village location in Houston, TX. Twenty percent of the sales from that night will go to the Mattress Firm Foundation. Scott has become a household fashion name with her unique, bold designs, the company said.
And on Nov. 3, a team of Mattress Firm employees participated in a walk to support pancreatic cancer research hosted by the Translational Genomics Research Institute in Phoenix. Mattress Firm said it is an avid supporter of TGEN and Dr. Daniel Von Hoff who leads the clinical translational research division and his team of scientists that focus on the development of new therapies for pancreatic cancer.
