Whirlpool Garners Ethics, Reputation Awards

BENTON HARBOR, Mich.–Whirlpool has been designated one of the world’s most ethical companies by the Ethisphere Institute, and one of the top 25 most respected companies by the Reputation Institute.
The Ethisphere Institute, a think tank dedicated to the promotion of best practices in government and business, named Whirlpool to its second annual ethical-companies list. The institute conducted a multistep evaluation of Whirlpool’s ethical practices, activities geared toward improving corporate citizenship and litigation and regulatory-compliance record.
The Reputation Institute ranks companies on the basis of products and services, governance, citizenship, work place, innovation, leadership and financial performance. In the Reputation Institute’s annual survey, Whirlpool placed 22nd on a list of 150 of the nation’s largest companies. The appliances giant also finished 18th out of the top 20 companies Americans said they would recommend to others.
